We've just released the ability to create Tap to Text links right inside of Shout!
Tap to Text links are amazing for sharing on social media apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Shout, especially when you're building a text messaging list.
Just tap "Links" from any composer, then tap "Short Links" and the "+" button to create a new Short Link. Tap the switch (mobile) or button (desktop) to convert the link to tap to text, Add your opt-in message plus select a trigger word (optional) and tap "Save". VOILA you've got a tap to text link!
SHOUT ACTIONS
Shout actions make it super easy to automate account management! Want to close all conversations opened by sending a broadcast? Easy! Want to start everyone in a list in a new drip plus add tags and manage their folders? Simple!
Create Shout Actions from the web or desktop app. Run them from Lists, tags, or contacts, or add them to Broadcast.
CONTACT ATTRIBUTES
We’ve added a bunch more contact attributes! You now have 70 contact attributes, 10 date fields and 60 text fields. We also added nouns for all of these fields, so you can customize your messaging in up to 70 different ways!
ACCOUNT ATTRIBUTES
Want to standardize even more? Yay! We’ve added 40 new account attributes, 10 dates and 30 text fields, so you can save more information about yourself and then reference it with Shout Nouns. Now you can protect your most important and private conversations in Shout by adding a PIN. Once you add a PIN to the Shout app, Shout will periodically ask you to verify your pin. Forget your pin? No problem, just log back into your account with your phone number, email, or password.

Setting up your Shout account just got way easier! When you create your account through the mobile app, you’ll automatically be prompted to enable your push notifications and sync your contacts. You’ll be prompted to add your name and photo so all your peeps can easily find you in the Shout app.

Have a friend, family member, employee, or assistant managing your Shout account? Now you can easily add authorized users to your account. Simply add their cell phone number, and voila! They can now access your Shout account on the web or mobile application.

ADD A PUBLIC PAGE TO YOUR GROUP CHAT
Adding a public page your group chat is meant for all those folks that have reached out and asked us for help moving their Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp Groups over to Shout. Adding a public page will enable some awesome new functionality to your group chats, including:
You get a dedicated URL to share with your group or team, to make it easy for them to find
You Group Chat will show up in Search on Shout
Your Group Chat will show up in Search on Google and other search engines
You can show off your members, notes, starred messages, media and folders on the public page
REQUEST TO JOIN A GROUP CHAT
It’s now super easy to allow folks to Request to Join your group chat, so you can make your chat public while still curating the membership.
Approve or Decline member requests to your group chat
Require requesters to respond to up to three questions and upload a file with their request to join
Admins can add “Automatically Approve” settings to automatically approve their contacts and members of other Group Chats they are in
Admins can customize how often they should be notified of requests to join. Get notified: immediately, every hour, every two hours, every evening, or never.
View all the requests that have been made to join your group chat.
See which admin reviewed a request
ADD FOLDERS TO GROUP CHATS
Now you can add folders to your group chats, this makes it super easy to share content with all the members of your group chats.
STAR MESSAGES IN GROUP CHATS
Admins can now star messages in group chats, so it’s easy for members to find the most important announcements and information.
SEARCH FOR PUBLIC GROUP CHATS
Now everyone in Shout can easily find your public Group Chats by searching.

SHOUT PROFILE PAGE
Now every Shout user gets a simple Shout Profile page, so it’s easy to share with your friends and contacts and for them to connect with you. Manage what’s visible on your profile page here:

VOICE MEMO TEMPLATES (Mobile Only)
Now you can create a message template with a voice memo. Voice memo message templates look just as if you sent them a voice memo in Shout but aren’t recommended for text messages. You can only create them in the mobile app, but you can use them anywhere in Shout.
GROUPS ARE LISTS
We just changed the name, so it’s not as confusing to talk about Groups and Group Chats. The feature formerly known as “Groups” is now known as “Lists”
OTHER FUN STUFF
The channel selector was moved down into the filters, so it’s a bit easier to catch. It still works the same.
We added an inbox selector to the inbox so you can focus on messages coming from your configured outlets including: All Inboxes, Group Chats, DMs, Customer Service, Marketing, Facebook, and Instagram.
Fixed a bug where mute threads were causing Threads on the home page to highlight
Using a nice Hash Icon in lieu of the Group Chat Collage image
Added a nice new Shout Notifications conversation so we can let you know about important stuff in your account (like Requests to Join your group chats for example).
Fixed a bug where sometimes the composer would not respect your accounts preference for sending attachments via text as a link or mms message.

Yay for better messaging on low bandwidth and low service areas! Shout now uses your device's background processing capabilities to send messages, so that no matter how much internet or coverage you have, we can send your messages once you’re back in a coverage area! It also adds support for our new plans!
INBOX
- Process file uploads and message sending in using your devices background processing capabilities.
- Show how many credits sending text cost using the new plans.
- Change the conversation action icon to an edit button so it’s less confusing.
- Made link previews more pretty in the conversation thread.
GROUP CHATS
- Tap a member from the members list to view the members public Shout profile.
SETTINGS
- Add a new Text Usage stats page.
- Only show the Shout Basics modal once, plus don’t open the settings menu so it’s less confusing.
